Programs
You can take part in RTPI programs no matter where you live. We’ll reach out to you on-line, personally travel to work with you in your own community or, of course, you can visit us at our Jamestown, New York headquarters.

We work with our State University of New York partners (SUNY
Fredonia and Jamestown Community College) to offer credit-bearing courses in
natural science and science education. On-line courses taught by RTPI staff and offered through the SUNY Learning Network at http://sln.suny.edu are Biology of Birds, an introduction to ornithology, and Natural Science Literacy for Teachers, a graduate-level course for teachers who teach or expect to teach science in the classroom.

RTPI's education staff travels nationwide in order to provide professional development and resources to support nature education in schools and communities across the country. School districts, nature centers, wildlife refuges, and summer camps are just a few of the sites where we present face-to-face nature education seminars and professional development institutes for educators.

We will work with you to provide custom-built programs to meet your goals of leaving no child inside! Please contact the Director of Education at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The Roger Tory Peterson Institute invites you to its world-class facility to connect you, your family and your students to the natural world. Our education program staff present nature education through a variety of public programs and programs tailored to your particular needs upon request.

Whether you're planning an Elderhostel program, working with scouts on their nature study merit badge, or looking for a worthwhile field trip destination for your home-schooled students, let us accommodate your needs.
