Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour

March 16, 2020

Dear Banff Friends,

Due to recent public health and safety concerns, the Banff Centre has suspended the remainder of its Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour, effective March 13.  This means we have to cancel the April 7, 2020 screening at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts.

There is a possibility that our Jamestown screening might be rescheduled for the fall. We’ll keep you posted.

In the meantime, the Reg Lenna Center will contact all ticket buyers.  You will have the option of a full refund or letting your ticket(s) ride in the event we’re able to reschedule the screening at a later date.

There is another option, as well.  You may donate the cost of your ticket(s) to the Roger Tory Peterson Institute.  During this time, attendance at museums and galleries all over the United States is down.  For good reason.  But this presents a hardship for nonprofit organizations, such as ours, who rely on event and attendance income to support our operations.  Donating the cost of your ticket(s) will help us to weather this event, to be ready – when circumstances improve –to resume a full schedule of art, education and conservation programs.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support of the Roger Tory Peterson Institute, and this spectacular event.

Sincerely,

Arthur Pearson, CEO

Jane Johnson, Director of Exhibitions & Marketing

The Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival is the largest, and one of the most prestigious, mountain festivals in the world.  Hot on the heels of the festival held every fall in Banff, Canada, the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour hits the road. Host organizations in each tour location help to choose a program that reflects the interests of their community, creating a unique celebration of adventure and adventurers at each stop.

With stops planned in about 550 communities and more than 40 countries across the globe, this year’s tour features a collection of the most inspiring action, environmental, and adventure films from the festival.

Traveling to exotic landscapes and remote cultures, and bringing audiences up-close and personal with adrenaline-packed action sports, the 2019/2020 World Tour is an exhilarating and provocative exploration of the mountain world.  From approximately 400 films entered into the annual festival, award-winning films and audience favorites are among the films chosen to travel the globe.
