Nurturing Nature Artists

Nurturing the next generation of nature artists is one of our top priorities.

In 2020, we piloted an artist-in-residence program. Robin Zefers Clark lived on-site for a month with her dog, Cutter. Inspired by the building and grounds at RTPI, she created a new water color each day – producing thirty original works in all.

In 2021, we commissioned two artists — one sculptor and one muralist. Vince Liuzzo carved and installed along our new Art and Nature Trail several sculptures of plant and animal species that celebrate Roger’s legacy. Erin Ruffino created a mural celebrating Roger’s legacy in a different way — Roger as the “bridge between the shotgun and the binoculars.”

We are in the process of expanding our artist-in-residence program to include many more artists from a diversity of backgrounds and disciplines — please check back soon for more information.
